Antenna-aid bandages your iPhone 4 reception issue, hopes for role in next Eminem video

Oh, Steve — you should’ve known better. You show up and remove a laptop from a manila envelope , and Earth’s most creative go and create a case fashioned out of one. You go and suggest that Eminem could ” come out with a band-aid that goes over the corner ” of your controversial iPhone 4, and well..

Great, We’re All Gonna Die: BP Oil SNAFU May Be Triggering ‘World Ending’ Event

So some scientists believe that the BP oil spill may be creating a buildup of methane capable of exploding and causing a mass extinction not unlike the Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum that went down 55 million years ago and (arguably) the Permian extinction event from 251 million years ago.

The rest is here:

How-to: stay connected while traveling internationally

It’s a harsh reality that every avid traveler faces, and unless you’re fortunate enough to have been born in a generation where you’re not expected to check your inbox every half-hour, glance over Twitter updates every 7.23 minutes seconds and tell the world where you’re at this very moment via Foursquare, you’ve probably found yourself wondering how on Earth you’re going to remain connected once your swipe that passport and leave the comfy confines of a native network . Staying connected while traveling abroad is no easy task, and while the internet may feel ubiquitous to tech-savvy smartphone owners who remain planted within the borders of their home nation, the world wide web suddenly becomes a whole lot less easy to track down once you plop down on foreign soil. Looking to splurge on a little international travel this summer, but can’t figure out how you’re going to ( affordably ) upload those Twitpics and YouTube videos once you get there?

Go here to read the rest:

CPT starts a little transflective LCD fire under Pixel Qi

No, not literally. CPT is showing off some transflective display tech that’s remarkably similar to Pixel Qi ’s, and the good news is that CPT is actually a display manufacturer. Pixel Qi’s tech seems more advanced, with 5X power savings with the backlight off, versus CPT’s 2X, but if CPT can get this 10.1-inch, 1366 x 768 panel onto the market soon for a good price, we think they could find some takers.

Dammit Japan, That’s Nacho Green Cheese!: Japan’s Plan For Robotic Moonbase By 2020

Remember Japan’s plans to put a humanoid robot on the moon by 2015 ? Well apparently that’s only Phase 1 of their $2 billion master plan , because now they want an entire robotic colony on the moon by 2020. Not if I have anything to do with it! (I don’t is the f***ing problem) As currently envisioned, the robots that will land on the lunar surface in 2015 will be 660-pound behemoths equipped with rolling tank-like treads, solar panels, seismographs, high-def cameras and a smattering of scientific instruments.
