Dell dropping Windows Phone 7 devices from its roadmap? (update: Dell responds, is definitely still in the game)

Now we don’t have much more to go on here than some analyst chatter and a lengthy article from TechCrunch , but if you believe what you read, a major player has just dropped Windows Phone 7 devices from its roadmap. Verizon confirms Android 2.2 update for Droid Incredible hits today

Just as we thought , HTC’s Droid Incredible for Verizon is getting boosted from Android 2.1 to 2.2 today, which should make plenty of owners (and plenty of non-owners who’ve been unable to find any stock for the past couple months) happy as a clam. Major features include pre-installed Flash 10.1, 720p video recording, mobile hotspot support as first introduced for Verizon on the Droid X , and naturally, all the other standard greatness you’ve come to expect with Froyo . We imagine this update will take a couple weeks to roll out to everyone, so show some patience, Droid Incredible owners — or, you know, do like we do and search frantically for an update.zip to get posted somewhere

Sony VAIO J joins the touchscreen all-in-one ranks

On the surface it doesn’t look like much separates Sony’s new 21.5-inch VAIO J all-in-one from the growing number of touchscreen AIOs on the market, but it’s definitely one of the more head-turning options out there. Like its 24-inch L Series , the VAIO J has a 1920×1080-resolution display and a Blu-ray drive, but the larger model now packs a 2.66GHz Intel Core i7-620M CPU, up to 8GB of RAM, and NVIDIA discrete graphics options with 512 vRAM.

New Core i7, Core i5 mobile processors to debut in HP Envy?

Intel’s churning out the mobile chips like nobody’s business — no sooner does it admit the existence of Core i5 and Core i3 ULV CPUs, the chipmaker finds itself with more explaining to do. That’s because dedicated Hewlett-Packard fans just found references three new standard-voltage Core 2010 chips in the service manuals for the new HP Envy 17 and Envy 15 gaming laptops. The i7-840QM appears to be Intel’s new top-of-the-line quad-core CPU, sporting a 1.86GHz clock that turbos up to 3.20GHz (or 3.20 MHz , if you believe the above screencap) and 8MB of L3 cache; the i7-740QM is two steps down with 1.73GHz / 2.93 GHz clocks and a 6MB L3 cache; and the i5-450M appears to be indistinguishable from the existing i5-520M with 2.4GHz / 2.93 GHz clocks and 3MB of L3 to help it along
